Jail root users to their home directory in vsftpd

Uncomment the following lines from the configuration file (vsftpd.conf )

location of the file - /etc/vsftpd/

chroot_list_enabled=YES

chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd/chroot_list

(if the “chroot_list” file is not there (etc/vsftpd/) , then create new file and add the users you want not to chroot)

Save and close the file.

Resart Vsftpd server

>service vsftpd restart

Check the same by connecting the vsftpd server with FTP client. This would restrict the users to their home directory.
